About The Artist

Peter started to take painting seriously after winning a local art competition at age fourteen. Dropped out of Ravenstone College of Art and Design at age eighteen to go grape picking in Spain. Then exhibited in the UK in the early seventies until the money ran out. He didn’t take painting seriously for twenty years concentrating on a career and family until the 1990’s when he picked up his brushes and decided to really start learning. Working in oils for portraiture and landscape, acrylic and mixed media for larger abstract works, always fascinated but fearful of watercolours but enchanted how a handful of artists could create fragile use of light and colour set to learning technique and then translating that learning into abstraction. He considers himself as a colourist and likes to create an idea of the unknown , ethereal and spiritual mystery that lies inside each of us. Ok, really he just wants you to make up your own mind!

Travelling widely in the Far East and SE Asia he became angered then inspired to action after reading an article on trafficking in Nepal, travelling to Kathmandu and following the trafficking routes down into India he found out more and returning to England co-founded Asha Nepal a registered charity that supports the victims of trafficking and fights against that evil trade. 25% of all sales go to the organisation to support its work.
